4GetMeNot (I Love my Brain Campaign)
THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED.
Scientific studies about the brain are rapidly changing our understanding about how to maintain the brain’s function as we age. It’s becoming increasingly clear that just as the key to our long-term physical health lies in the daily choices we make around diet, exercise and sleep; our choices can also impact our brain’s health as we age. It’s exciting to know that some of the same actions that can keep our brain functioning as we age can also reduce the debilitating impact of Alzheimer’s disease.
Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive, degenerative disorder that attacks the brain’s nerve cells, or neurons, resulting in loss of memory, thinking and language skills, and behavioral changes. Currently, Alzheimer’s has no known cure, but as research continues to pinpoint what works to reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s, people of all ages can benefit from taking positive steps to get and stay healthy.
4get-me-not Alzheimer’s, a nonprofit organization raising awareness on Alzheimer’s disease in the UAE, launched the ILoveMyBrain campaign this year to support mounting evidence that a lifetime of learning such as learning a second language, participation in leisure activities like art and music may ward off Alzheimer's disease.
